Your Care Will Never Be Forgotten
For over 110 years, faithful friends like you have inspired gratitude in thousands of formerly homeless women and men. At the Boston Rescue Mission, we work hard to place our residents into a physical home. But first and foremost, we want to build a stable, emotional home--one that feels safe, secure, and sustainable. Living a healthy life is a lot more than having a roof over your head. Home is where you feel you belong to goodness.
Someone asked me recently if homeless women and men ever really break the chains of poverty and addiction that bind them? Are they too far gone to be helped?
Here at the Mission, each staff member recognizes that the transition out of homelessness and hopelessness can be a bumpy road with successes and occasional failures. No matter how long it takes, eventually the successes start to add up. Men and women become stronger and more independent by sharing their stories with others. They learn how to change harmful habits. They recover and they graduate, but they never forget what you have provided to them-a fresh start.
Now, it's summer and our needs continue. When the weather is hot, our guests face more and more difficulties and frustrations. Thanks to the faithful support of friends like you, together we are serving and reaching out to the hurting and homeless in new and highly effective ways.
Thank you again for your compassion, and may God bless you!
Blessings!
