Something To Be Thankful For...
On Sunday, November 23, 2008, the Boston Rescue Mission celebrated its 16th annual Day of Thanks by reaching out to our community. See video highlights on our home page.

We kicked off the festivities with remarks by Governor Deval L. Patrick, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Jo Jo White (Boston Celtics Director of Special Projects and Community Relations), Harold M. Clarke (Commissioner of MA Department of Corrections), and Philip F. Mangano (Executive Director, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness).
Hundreds of homeless women, men, and children feasted on a traditional Thanksgiving Turkey dinner in our kitchen. Hundreds more received full turkeys with complete food baskets to take home to their families.
We would like to thank our hundreds of volunteers and donors who contributed their time and resources to carry forward our vision of transforming lives at risk. Over 65 volunteers helped to distribute turkeys and baskets of Thanksgiving goodies and prepared and served a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, yams, rolls, juice, gravy, pumpkin, apple and blueberry pie and ice cream. Every person who passes through our doors is another reason to give thanks, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day of the year.
A special thanks to all our donors
