For the 17th year in a row, volunteers and staff at the Boston Rescue Mission reached out to our neighbors in the community to celebrate the blessings we have been given.

On the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we served hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to hungry men, women and children in our dining room throughout the afternoon. Our food pantry recipients and families of our residents received dozens of Holiday baskets filled with turkeys and all the trimmings for their own dinner tables at home. Over 4,000 pounds of food and 300 gallons of beverages were served.
Remarks were offered by Governor Deval Patrick, Jim Greene, Commissioner of the Emergency Shelter Commission, and Boston City Councilor Charles Yancy in a short ceremony to kickoff the event. Also in attendance were Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz and Boston Celtics all star and MVP JoJo White.
We are grateful for those who volunteer on this special day and throughout the year. To find out more about donating your time or food items to the Mission, please call our Volunteer Coordinator, Jason Bonetti, at 617-338-9000 x1230. We know that when you give of yourself, you'll receive back even more. Thank you for caring!
