How to Donate to the Mission

homeless shelterWhen you donate your time, food, or money to the Boston Rescue Mission you are partnering with us in the battle against homelessness and addiction.  The largest contributor to the Boston Rescue Mission has been and will always be our individual donors.  We have been serving the community of Greater Boston for 105 years because of the charitable hearts of our supporters.

Our greatest need at this time is financial support.  Recent cuts in Public funding have made our dependence upon individual support even more vital.  We ask that you give what you can spare but not what you can't afford.  To make a financial contribution you may Donate Online or send it via US mail; just click on the appropriate page on the Navigation bar to the left.

To set up a recurring financial donation please contact Allison Kinyua at 617-338-9000, ext. 1202 or email her at akinyua@brm.org.

There are many other ways to support the Mission aside from financial contributions.  The two other major needs of the Mission are donations of time and food.  There are many opportunities to come and volunteer at the Boston Rescue Mission.  Or, some people volunteer for the Mission without even setting foot here. Friends of the Mission have hosted food drives at their workplace or church; they have set up a booth at an unrelated event such as a concert, fair or carnival. Any and all ideas to bring support and recognition to the Mission are welcome. Of course, volunteering on location at the Mission is a very popular option whether as an individual or a group.  Click on the volunteer section using the Navigation bar to the left.

Last year the Mission served over 192,000 meals.  In addition to volunteers who help serve the meals, we are also in need of the food itself.  We are well supported by local restaurants and catering companies, but are always grateful for both fresh and non-perishable food items.  If we ever receive a food donation that we are unable to use all by ourselves, we would give the surplus to other shelters and soup kitchens in Greater Boston.  Read more on the Food Page for information on our food donations.

We never sell, rent or exchange our supporters' names.
