Homeless Statistics

Homeless Statistics and Important Links

Homeless statistics are presented on three levels;  in-house at the Boston Rescue Mission, locally in Greater Boston/ Massachusetts and on a National Level

A common trend observed in these statistics indicate that homelessness in Boston and nationally, has been on the increase dramatically, since the past decade.  The greatest increase has been observed among women and children. In a ten year span between 1987 and 1997, many communities reported a doubling in the number of shelter beds, while some reported that the number of shelter beds had tripled.
