On Monday April 20, 2009, one woman and six men on the Boston Rescue Mission team joined in the 113th running of the Boston Marathon. The blend of Boston Marathon veterans and new runners spent months in training, raising awareness about homelessness, and recruiting family, friends and associates to financially sponsor them. For encouragement during the race, several runners wore a wristband with 26 prayer requests from our clients and staff, with each prayer representing one mile. We're thrilled to report that this year, every one of our participants finished the race!

But there's still one more commitment we've made in this event. We're looking to raise $35,000 to prevent and end homelessness this summer. So far, we've raised over half of our goal, but we need your help! Please click the Donate Now button in the top right corner of the page and sponsor a runner of your choice to help us continue to transform lives at risk. Alternatively, to give by phone, cash, or check, please contact Meghan Slack at (617) 338-9000 x1231 or via email at mslack@brm.org. Thank you for your support!
