At the Boston Rescue Mission, clients and staff are part of a community that recognizes that we are spiritual beings as well as physical, emotional and psychological beings. All of the case management programs of the Boston Rescue Mission embrace the principles of twelve step recovery. Although we may not all be in recovery, we are all working the Twelve Steps in our lives. It just so happens that seven of those twelve steps deal with the spiritual aspects of our human nature.
The Boston Rescue Mission has always embraced the spiritual well being of those we serve as we attempt to meet physical and psychological needs as well. A former employee recently wrote "Overall for me, this whole experience has been a great opportunity to learn more about myself and about God, and about what matters in life." Clients and staff may have different responsibilities and functions within our community but we are all provided with the same opportunity to grow closer to God and to each other.
As stated in our Mission Statement: We are a healing community where we attempt to reflect the love of God in all we do with integrity, working to empower our guests to become valued members of society, as we provide the basic necessities of life to all who cross our threshold.
The clients of the Boston Rescue Mission have the opportunity to meet regularly with Lynn Samaan, Director of Spiritual Development and Outreach at the Mission, to pursue spiritual growth and development as a part of their journey of transformation.
