About the Role

The Building Maintenance Staff at Boston Rescue Mission performs the maintenance of all BRM facilities, which includes maintaining all properties, equipment, and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions. This is a key role responsible for collaborating with the Director of Operations and the Facilities Maintenance Manager to ensure that all buildings are optimally operating and in compliance with all BRM, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and laws.


At the heart of all interactions with BRM donors, guests, and volunteers, the Building Maintenance Staff are integral to cultivating an environment that establishes respect and acceptance of all individuals. This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about social justice, facility repair/upkeep, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on all BRM properties, which includes maintaining all buildings, equipment, and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions

About You (Qualifications)

  • Aligned to BRM’s mission to serve volunteers and shelter guests with respect, integrity, and grace as we collaborate to support the recovery, health, and independence of those with a history of substance use, incarceration, and homelessness

  • Possess at least 8-10 years of maintenance experience

  • Demonstrate adequate knowledge of and experience with building and equipment maintenance

  • Possess strong analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to work with diverse individuals

  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with BRM guests, staff, volunteers, and other partner agencies

  • Compensation: $20-30 hourly rate, commensurate with experience
