Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Overview
The Boston Rescue Mission has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our Mission's commitment to your privacy. In using our site, we want to provide a safe, secure experience. We will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private. Because we receive many types of information from our users, we feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

Information Received
We receive credit card information from our supporters to process donations. We do not keep credit card information after contributions are processed, except in cases of periodic recurring contributions. We use a credit card processing company to process contributions. Neither the Boston Rescue Mission nor this credit card processing company retains, shares, stores or uses personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Transacting online with the Boston Rescue Mission will not open your credit card information to dissemination. The Boston Rescue Mission does not disclose, sell, trade, rent, or otherwise reveal our supporters' credit card information to third parties, including advertisers or marketers. This information is only used to process the transaction.

When visitors donate online, we retain names, addresses, phone numbers, and email information to send receipts and to continue relationships with our supporters.

When visitors supply personal information in applications or requests, we collect and use personal information only to the extent necessary to process the application or respond to the request.

When our supporters respond to surveys, any personally identifiable information that could be linked to any survey is kept strictly confidential.

We never share, sell, rent or exchange our donors’, supporters’, applicants' or survey respondents' personal information, whether received online via web site, email, or other digital means, or offline, via written or verbal means.

The Boston Rescue Mission collects only aggregate data about web site visitors from web server traffic reports. These reports provide data that shows how long visitors stay on the site and which pages are visited most without identifying individual users. By collecting this information, we are able to develop and maintain our web site so that it will be most helpful to users.

Children
The Boston Rescue Mission and its informational materials do not actively market to children. Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Opting Out and Corrections
When visitors supply us with contact information, they may receive periodic contacts from us with client progress updates or news about upcoming events. If supporters wish to receive only certain mailings (like our newsletter, for example), or wish to receive no correspondence at all, or if any personal information needs to be corrected, please let us know by contacting us via any method described below. We will try to ensure that all requests are honored.

Security
The Boston Rescue Mission operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our customers.
