Maps and Directions

Directions by the "T" (Boston's subway system):

​

The Boston Rescue Mission is accessible by the Red, Orange and Green Lines.

Take the Red Line to the Downtown Crossing stop. Go up the Chauncy Street Exit. You will be at the intersection of Chauncy and Summer Street (by the CVS Pharmacy). Walk down Summer Street one block with CVS on your right and take a right onto Kingston Street, we are located 3/4 of the block down Kingston Street on the right side at 39 Kingston.

Take the Orange Line to the Downtown Crossing stop. Go up the Washington Street exit. You will be directly across from Macy's. Walk down Summer Street with Macy's on your right. Cross Chauncy Street, passing the CVS Pharmacy on your right, and take a right onto Kingston Street. We are located 3/4 of the block down Kingston Street on the right side at 39 Kingston.

Take the Green Line to the Park Street Station. Cross over Tremont street and walk down Winter Street. Continue down Winter Street/Summer Street (Winter Street turns into Summer Street) Walk down Summer Street past Macy's on your right, cross Chauncy Street, passing the CVS Pharmacy and take a right onto Kingston Street. We are located 3/4 of the block down Kingston Street on the right side at 39 Kingston.

Driving Directions:

From Points North: Take 95 South to 93 South. Get off at Exit 23 (Purchase Street / South Station) and continue straight off the exit. Take a right at the third intersection (Summer Street).  At the 3rd light turn left onto Kingston Street. We are on the right side of the street at #39.

From Points South: Go North on Route 93 Expressway. Take Exit 20 towards South Station.  Continue straight through lights and take a left onto Summer Street. At the 3rd light turn left onto Kingston Street. We are on the right side of the street at #39.

From Points West and the Mass Pike (Route 90E): Take the last exit that reads South Station. Take a left onto Summer Street. At the 3rd light turn left onto Kingston Street. We are on the right side of the street at #39.

From the Airport: Through the Sumner Tunnel follow signs to Route 93 Expressway South. Take Exit 22, South Station. Take your first right at the light onto Summer Street. Stay to the right of the small island (on your right will be 100 Summer Street). Proceed through the next light and at the last light you will turn left onto Kingston Street. We are on the right side of the street, #39.

Parking:

Turn right directly after the Boston Rescue Mission, (with BRM on your right), and one block ahead is the Lafayette Place/Hyatt Parking Garage. They have flat rates at night, on weekends and on holidays. Day parking costs $8 - $40 per day. On-street metered parking is difficult, though available at times, in the surrounding downtown area. Garage and lot parking are also available on a varying hourly basis. (Generally between $8.00 - 12.00 per hour depending on the lot, day and time).

MBTA Bus Directions

Otis St. @ Summer St. is the closest bus stop to the Mission. It is serviced by the following bus lines:

  • 7 - City Point - Otis & Summer Streets via Summer Street & South Station

  • 426 - Central Sq., Lynn - Haymarket Sta. via Cliftondale

  • 448/449 - Marblehead – Downtown Crossing via Paradise Rd.or Humphrey St., Lynnway, & Airport

  • 450 - Eastern Ave. & Essex St. - Haymarket Sta. or WonderlandSalem Depot - Haymarket Sta. or WonderlandSalem Depot - Central Sq., Lynn via Highland Ave.

  • 459 - Salem Depot - Downtown Crossing via Logan Airport & Central Square, Lynn

  • 501 - EXPRESS BUS Brighton Center - Downtown via Oak Sq., & Mass. Turnpike

  • 504 - EXPRESS BUS Watertown/Newton Corner - Downtown via Mass. Turnpike

  • 505 - EXPRESS BUS Central Sq., Waltham - Downtown via Moody St. & Mass. Turnpike

  • 553 - Roberts - Downtown Boston via Newton Corner & Central Sq., Waltham

  • 554 - Waverley Square - Downtown Boston

  • 556 - Waltham Highlands - Downtown Boston via Newton Corner & Central Sq., Waltham & Newtonville

  • 558 - Riverside - Downtown Boston via Newton Corner & Turnpike

Exit the bus at the Otis St. @ Summer St. Stop and cross Summer St. towards the Bank of America ATMs to reach Kingston St. on the other side (Otis St. becomes Kingston St. after you cross Summer St.). Stay on the right side of Kingston St. and pass by J.J. Foley’s and Kingston Grille & Bar until you reach the Mission on the right side at 39 Kingston St.
